A magnificent magnum (1.5 L) of Chateau neuf du pape Rouge.
From Jerome Quiot definitely one of the best producers of Chateau Neuf Du Pape in the entire region, a warming full bodied delicious red wine bursting with velvety smooth soft spicy flavours. A true masterpiece.
Wine notes
Terroir :
3 major soil types : -soils with rolled pebbles -stony terraces with sand and gravel sub-soils -clay soils formed from the limestone mother rock.
Grape varieties :
13 grape varieties, with mostly : -Grenache -Syrah -Mourvèdre -Cinsault
Vinification :
Virtually total de-stemming, pumping over twice a day. Vatting time : 2 to 3 weeks in concrete vats. Matured for 18 monthsin vats and "foudres" (15%).
Tasting notes :
Deep crimson. Ripe dark berries, turning to spices. Smooth and persistent with aromatic fullness
Food matching :
Viandes rouges, dishes cooked in sauce, meat terrine and cheeses
